Granny Square of the Month

 

Every month we will make a granny square from the book "3D Granny Square: 100 crochet patterns for pop-up granny squares". We will use this book for the whole year. This month we chose the turkey. Join us at the craft table anytime we are open and work on your granny square. Do it yourself, with a friend, or if you need help; we can help you for $20 a square. 

Items you will need:

1. Book $14.99 (we sell it in the store)
2. "C" crochet hook (we sell them if you don't already have one)
3. Hayfield Bonus DK yarn (in the colors for the pattern)
4. We provide if you don't have it: scissors, tapestry needle

Craft Table

Everyone is welcome anytime we are open to work on any project at the craft table. Stay, relax, socialize, get help, and have fun at the craft table. 

Lessons

Spinning Lessons

 Spinning Basics Class

In this 3 hour class you will learn the basics of spinning. The class costs $75 plus any fiber you choose to spin. You do not need a spinning wheel as you will be using ours to learn. We please ask one student at a time as we only have one spinning wheel in the shop to offer use of. Learning to spin takes time. It may take a couple of these classes to get it down. If our spinning wheel is not in use, you can always practice at the store for $20/hour or purchase your own after you know you enjoy spinning.

Spinning Ply Class

Prerequisite to this class is Spinning Basics Class. Spinning Ply Class is a 3 hour class. It will teach you how to ply as well as set and thwack your newly plied yarn. You will need to bring in 2 bobbins of already spun single ply yarn in order to take this class.  This is a $75 class.

Spinning Art Yarn Class

Prerequisite to this class is Spinning Basics Class. Spinning Art Yarn Class is a 3 hour class that exposes you to different techniques of art yarn. You can use our wheel or bring your own, it just needs to have a large orifice to allow large yarn. This is a $75 lesson plus two braids you choose.

 

Knitting lessons

Knitting 101

This is a 1 hour class that will teach you the basics of knitting and the  knit stitch. You will be knitting a scarf. We will get you started and you can take this home to work on and bring it back to finish. This lesson is $40 plus needles and a skein of yarn of your choice, if you don’t already have some.

Knitting 102

Prerequisite to this class is Knitting 101. Knitting 102 is a 1 hour class that will teach you how to knit in the round, the purl stitch and knit 2 together stitch. You will be knitting a beanie. This lesson is $40 plus needles (if you don’t already have some) and a skein of yarn of your choice.

 

Crochet lesson

Crochet 101

This is a 1 hour class that will teach you the basics of crocheting. You will be crocheting a scarf. This lesson is $40 plus a hook and skein of yarn of your choice. 

Crochet 102 

This is a 1 hour class that will teach you how to crochet in the round. You will be crocheting a beanie. This lesson is $40 plus a hook (if you don't already have one) and skein of yarn of your choice. 

Rigid heddle Lessons

Rigid Heddle Weaving Basics

 This is a 5 hour class that teaches you how to warp one of our looms. You will be making a scarf. This class is $50 plus two skeins of yarn.

 

  

Renting our Tools

You can rent our tools in our store with a small fee. This guarantees you have a spot and use of the tool. All tools are $20/hour. If you use our fiber to make a batt or rolags,  it is $5/ounce plus the rent fee. (Tools stay in the store.)
